Cultivation and preparation
In order to obtain a luxury extra virgin olive oil many factors must be met and all of which are important.
The Oleícola Jaén premium oils pursue excellence and that excellence has to start in the field. Our own estates are intensive cultivation olive groves with a 7×5 m irrigation planting distance.
Irrigation is short and very frequent for the optimum development of both the tree as well as the fruit. Cultivation is carried out with an integrated agriculture and perfectly environmental friendly, where herbicides are not used and is left in the middle of the bedding a vegetal cover for the erosion of the land and not to impoverish the soil. The transport of the olive from the field to the olive oil mill is undertaken in less than one hour and in less than two hours the olive is ground so as to obtain the oil by mechanical means in a 100% natural manner.
